The molding methods of ductile iron castings include hand molding, machine molding and automatic molding.
(1) Hand Molding
The advantage of hand modeling is that it has wide applicability and can make castings of various shapes and sizes, while the process is simple and easy to understand, the cost is relatively low, and it is suitable for small batch and single piece production.
However, its disadvantages are also obvious, such as long production cycle, low precision, and large manual intervention.
(2) Automatic Molding
Automatic molding has been widely used in the production of ductile iron castings, its advantages are high production efficiency, high precision of finished products, stable quality, and compared with hand molding can greatly reduce manual intervention, shorten the production cycle.
However, the cost of automatic modeling is also relatively high, and the scope of application is relatively narrow, more suitable for large-scale, relatively regular shape casting production.
(3) Machine Molding
Machine molding is meaning to use molding machines to replace molding workers. In this way, it could reduce manpower, and make the casting quality more stable.
Compared with automatic molding, machine molding has higher flexibility, but lower production rate.
