Ductile iron has high strength, great toughness, wear resistance and pressure resistance, and is cheaper than cast steel, so more and more customers like to produce ductile iron motor cover instead of cast steel motor cover.
Welding repair is not allowed at any part of the ductile iron motor covers in our foundry. The parting line of the motor cover rough casting should be grinded to be flat, and the casting surface stained with sand should be polished to be clean.
In order to inspect the internal shrinkage of the ductile cast iron motor covers, the inspectors of our foundry use ultrasonic flaw detector for batch inspection.
