SS 14 01 O120 is the most common type of grey cast iron in Sweden, SS 14 01 is the standard, and O120 is the material grade.
This material offers exceptional machinability and is extremely resistant to heat and corrosion. It is also easy to finish and extremely effective at damping both sound and vibration. The strength and abrasion resistance of this material are limited.
The Chemical Composition for SS 14 01 O120 Gray Cast Iron:
The normal chemical components of O120 grade include:
C: 3.10-3.40%, Si: 1.90-2.30%, Mn: 0.60-0.90%, P ≤ 0.15%, S ≤ 0.15%. CE: 3.90-4.15.
This is just an experience data. According to the related standards, the mechanical properties are the inspection standard. The iron foundries can adjust the chemical components according to their own experience.
The mechanical properties for SS 14 01 O120 Gray Cast Iron:
Compressive Strength, 800 MPa
Tensile Strength, 200~300 Mpa
Brinell Hardness HB30, 170-210
Modulus of Elasticity, 100 kN/mm2
Elongation, 0.3~0.8%
Only the tensile strength is the quality inspection standard. Other mechanical properties are only for reference unless the buyers have particular requirements.
