SG70 Spheroidal Graphite Cast Iron is a type of ductile iron material grade in standard SABS 936 for South Africa. It has very high tensile strength, but very small elongation. It is only suitable for very high load and high wear applications.

SG70 Cast Iron Mechanical Properties:
Tensile strength is minimum 700 Mpa.
Elongation is minimum 2%.
Brinell Hardness (BHN) is 229-302 (This hardness range is only for reference).

SG70 Cast Iron Applications:
Ductile iron SG70 has very high tensile strength and high hardness, but the elongation is very small, so it is suitable for high load and high wear applications, including crankshafts, camshafts, lathe spindles, and special valve components.
