ISO 185 JL 200 has limited strength and wear resistance than other cast iron grades. However, it has good noise and vibration damping combined with excellent machineability. So it is suited for standard cast iron applications, such as moulds, stove parts, and bearings.
Chemical Components of ISO 185 JL 200
Carbon (C): 3.2-3.5%
Silicon (Si): 2.0-2.5%
Manganese (Mn): 0.6-0.8%
Phosphorus (P): 0.4% max
Sulfur (S): 0-0.15%
All values are % weight. Ranges represent what is permitted under applicable standards. The iron foundries can adjust the chemical components according to their own experience.
