Equivalent standards and
material grades
for nodular-graphite iron EN-1563 and grey cast iron EN-1561
The equivalent national standards and
material grades for nodular-graphite iron EN-1563 and grey cast iron
EN-1561,
including their mechanical and physical properties.
Chinese iron foundries could produce
most of material grades in these standards, however, as for the very
high grades,
such as nodular graphite iron 800 and 900 grades, most
of iron foundries could not produce them very well in China.
They
need proper heat treatment, which is not easy to handle. Our Dandong
Foundry can not produce these two material grades for now. |

Tensile strength refers to the value
obtained in a 30-diameter raw cast test piece and which
corresponds to a relevant wall thickness of 15 mm.
• For each grade, the Brinell hardness decreases as the wall
thickness increases.
• By agreement between the manufacturer and purchaser, a
narrower hardness range may be adopted in the agreed
position, provided that this is not less
than 40 Brinell hardness units.
• 1 N/mm2 = 1Mpa.
• Materials designation is in accordance with the EN 1560
standard.
• Whatever method is employed to obtain the moulded pieces,
the grades have been established according to the mechanical
specifications independently determined
on machined test pieces from outside castings, in sand
moulds or another type with a comparable thermal
diffusivity.
• The elastic modulus depends on the quantity and form of
the graphite, together with the charge. |
