Stainless Steel Casting, Cast Steel Application in Various
Industries
In modern society, stainless steel castings are widely used in many
industries, such as automotive industry, water industry,
construction industry, appliance industry, environmental industry
and so on. It plays an important role in the improvement of peoples’
life.
Among all the application of stainless
steel castings in different industries, the automotive
industry is currently the fastest growing area. Over the past
decade, Japan's automotive steel consumption has increased from an
average of 10 kg to 30 kg; the United States has increased more than
40 kg. Public transport such as bus, subway, high-speed railway
vehicles also widely use stainless steel castings. Chinese home
appliance industry is the largest potential market for stainless
steel application. In addition, the demand for stainless steel
castings in the water industry, building and structure industry,
environmental industry, industrial facilities will increase year by
year.
Vehicle / Automotive industry
This is currently the fastest growing stainless steel application
area. Nowadays, stainless steel cars have been widely used in Japan,
the United States, Sweden and other countries. Since the 1980s,
Japan began to promote stainless cars, and at present, the stainless
steel train in Japan has reached 60%. Car industry is the focus of
the development of stainless steel applications.
Water industry
Water pollution in the storage and transportation process has
attracted more and more attention. A lot of facts have proved that
stainless steel is best materials for water preparation, storage,
transportation, purification, recycling, desalination and other
water industry.
Construction industry
It is the first application area of stainless steel castings.
Nowadays, stainless steel castings are mainly used in high-rise
building exterior, interior and exterior columns of the covering,
handrails, floors, elevator panels, doors, windows, walls and other
internal and external decoration and components.
Appliance industry
In the appliance industry, a large amount of stainless steel
castings are used in automatic washing machine, water heater, and
microwave oven, refrigerator and so on. It is estimated that for the
next 5 to 10 years, stainless steel demand in China's home appliance
industry will reach 10 million to 15 million tons.
Environmental industry
Industrial waste gas, waste and sewage treatment plants require the
use of stainless steel castings. In the flue gas desulphurization
process, to resist sulfur dioxide and chloride ions, corrosion of
iron, we need to use high-grade duplex stainless steel and
austenitic stainless steel castings in the absorption tower,
chillers, pumps, valves, flue, etc.
Stainless steel is an essential material in various industries, so
more and more steel foundries
in China are engaged in producing stainless steel castings for
exporting.
