EN-GJL-150, CAST IRON GG15
EN-GJL-150 is a low material grade of
grey cast iron in European
standard EN 1561,
it is also named as cast iron GG15 in standard DIN 1691 by Germany
and Austria.
The followings are its equivalent grades, chemical composition,
mechanical properties, and some photos of grey iron castings made by
Dandong Foundry.
EN-GJL-150 Equivalent Grades
Besides GG15 in standard DIN 1691,
this grade is also equivalent to the following grades:
ISO 185 - Class 150
GB 9439 - HT150 in China
ASTM A48 - Class 20, or 25 in USA
UNI 5007 - G15 in Italy
UNF - FG15 in Spain
AS 1830 - T150 in Australia
NS11 100 - SJG150 in Norway
EN-GJL-150 Chemical Composition
In any standard, the chemical composition to this grade were not
mandatory, they allow iron casting manufacturers to adjust the
chemical composition according to the production conditions, as long
as the manufacturers could meet the mechanical properties.
However, some standards have given some chemical ranges for
reference. C: 3.2-3.5%, Si: 1.8-2.4%, Mn: 0.5-0.9%, P ≤ 0.2, S ≤
0.2.
EN-GJL-150 Mechanical Properties
Tensile Strength ≥ 150 Mpa
Yield Strength: No Requirement.
Hardness Range: 150 to 200 BH
Only the tensile strength is the quality inspection standard. Other
mechanical properties are only for reference unless the buyers have
particular requirements.
