Large Belt Pulley Made in Dandong Foundry

These large belt pulley are from 500kg to 2tons, which are used for the large rock crushers. We made them for our clients in Germany.

The large belt pulley is very difficult to make the raw castings very well, The material is ductile cast iron GGG40. They are about one ton weight, and over one meter diameter. In order to keep all the surfaces away from any small sand holes, air holes and shrinkage. We have to take the special pouring process to keep the enough liquid iron to replenish the shrinkage, at the same time, we have to keep the high temperature to reduce the cooling time for the iron. We used about half of year and waste about 15 tons cast iron to test them. Finally, we succeeded. We can make the very well, and the defective rate is very low by the improved casting process. By the way, the resin sand casting process is very necessary for this pulley. The green sand can not guarantee the surface quality and dimensional requirements. When the belt pulley is too large, the inter stress is very large, so the green sand is not strong enough to hold it.
