Ductile and Gray Cast Iron Price per Ton
Many cast iron buyers are familiar to
evaluate ductile iron and gray iron casting prices by USD/ton. This
evaluation is not suitable for those iron castings with machining
works, but this method could be used for evaluating the prices of
rough castings, and some cast iron parts with simple machining
requirements.
Ductile Iron Price per Ton
For rough ductile iron casting parts: 1300 – 1600 USD/ton
Gray Iron Price per Ton
For rough gray iron casting parts: 1450 – 1750 USD/ton
These are ex-work prices in China, so excluding the costs for
packing, painting and delivery costs.
The prices changed in the range according to the different size,
unit weights, structural complexity and production processes.
These price ranges are based on the common ductile iron material
grades in ASTM A536 60-40-18,
60-42-10, 65-45-12, 70-50-05, 80-55-06, 80-60-03, and gray iron
grades in ASTM A48 No. 20, No.
25, No.30, No. 35. As for the higher grades, their cast iron prices
will be higher than these range, because of the more difficult for
production, more alloy materials and extra heat treatment processes.
If the cast iron parts are very light, very small, very complex, or
have very high requirements, then their prices per ton will be much
higher than this range.
The casting processes also affects these prices, for example, the
shell molding process more expensive than resin sand casting
process, which is higher than green sand casting process.
According to experience of our Dandong Foundry, the price per ton
could be used to evaluate the following cast iron products, such as
manhole covers, counter weights, cast iron plates, balance weights,
fishing sinkers, heavy base parts etc.
