Cast Iron Pipe Fittings Made in China
Pipe fittings are the accessories of connecting pipes.
Pipe fittings
usually include elbows, tee joints,
four-way adapters,
short tubes, sockets, bends, flanges and plugs, etc.
The materials of pipe fittings:
There are many materials that could be used for pipe fittings. Some
common materials used in the manufacturing of pipe fittings include
ductile iron,
grey iron, cast steel, cast
copper, cast aluminum and plastic. Each material has advantages and
disadvantages.
The advantages of pipe fitting materials:
Aluminum pipe fittings are lightweight, and they have high corrosion
resistance.
Copper pipe fittings are more anti-corrosive than other metals, very
durable and flexible. Moreover, copper pipe fittings are recyclable.
Plastic pipe fittings are cheaper, they are very durable, good
corrosion resistance and easy for installation.
The toughness and compressive resistance of ductile iron pipe
fittings are very good, and they have good security, lower breakage,
and easy maintenance.
Grey iron pipe fittings have good liquidity mechanical performance
and they are cheaper.
Cast iron pipe fittings are higher resistant to abrasion, but the
untreated cast iron is easily rusted, so it should use antirust
paint to prevent rust.
The application of pipe fittings:
Cast iron pipe fittings are primarily used in buildings sanitary,
and waste drainage systems. Copper pipe fittings are most widely
used to supply hot and cold water in residential water lines.
Plastic pipe fittings are mainly used in water supply and drain
lines. Aluminum pipe fittings are mainly used in household plumbing,
guardrails, and other pipe structures.
Both metric and standard pipe fitting specifications are globally
accepted. Standard pipe fittings are available in sizes ranging from
1/8 of an inch to 36 inches. Metric pipe fittings are available in
sizes ranging from 10 mm to 1,000 mm.
The followings are some cast iron and
cast steel pipe fittings made in Dandong
Foundry in China.
