ASTM A436 - 1997 / ASTM A439 - 1999 for Austenitic Cast Iron

This is an America standard for the physical properties, mechanical properties and chemical analysis of austenitic cast iron. The types of austenitic cast iron include austenitic gray cast iron and austenitic ductile cast iron.

Austenitic gray cast iron has good machinability, corrosion resistance, heat resistance, acid resistance and alkali resistance. Austenitic gray castings are widely used in the valve, pump body and pipe fitting etc. Austenitic ductile cast iron containing 20% - 30% Ni and it has higher strength and toughness, its tensile strength can reach 1000 Mpa. Austenitic ductile castings are widely used in gear and structural components, such as brackets, frameworks and bases, etc.
